Meet Dr. Susan Carron and Dr. Claire Cullen of Olde Orchard Pediatric Dentistry

About our Doctors

Dr. Susan Carron, an Ann Arbor native, graduated from Michigan State University in 1973, the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1977, and received an M.S. in Pediatric Dentistry in 1979. She has been in private practice limited to pediatric dentistry since graduation, and is a Fellow in the International College of Dentists.

Dr. Carron taught part time in the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan for 15 years.

She has been active in Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity - locally and nationally, Shalom Chapter of Hadassah of Metropolitan Detroit, Delta Dental of Michigan - Board of Directors, Michigan Specialties President Council, University of Michigan School of Dentistry - Alumni Board, March Reading Month at Novi elementary schools, Mentor to Girls in Science for Livonia Schools and "Give Kids a Smile".

Dr. Carron is presently active in the Michigan Dental Foundation, Renaissance Health Service Corporation Corporate Board, Detroit Alumni Chapter of Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity and University of Michigan K.A. Easlick Graduate Pediatric Dentistry Society and mentor to dental and dental hygiene students.

Dr. Claire Cullen, raised in New Jersey, graduated from the George Washington University in Washington DC in 1974, and graduated from the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1977. She was selected by the faculty for the OKU Dental Honor Society. In 1979, she received a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Dr. Cullen was in private practice limited to pediatric dentistry and taught part-time at the Tuft's University Dental School in Boston for two years. From 1981-1990, Dr. Cullen taught full-time at the University of Detroit School of Dentistry. From 1985-1990, Dr. Cullen held the position of Department Chair. In 1989, she was presented with the Award of Excellence in Teaching. In 1991, Dr. Cullen was Chair of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Western Australia in Perth. She joined Dr. Carron in 1992.

Dr. Cullen has been active in OKU Dental Honor Society, University of Detroit, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Dental Advisory Board, Volunteer Dentist for "Christina's Smile" sponsored by the Senior PGA Tour, EduMentor for Cranbrook Institute of Science - Careers in Science for Girl's Program, and author of 21 pediatric dentistry articles, the last one in 2003 titled "The Child Whisperer - A Pediatric Dentistry Essay".

Both Doctors are Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, are licensed specialists and active in the Michigan Dental Association, and the Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Both doctors are on staff at Providence Hospital and participate with the Cranio-facial Anomalies and Cleft Palate Team.

Both Doctors are members of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Detroit District Dental Society, Oakland County Dental Society, American Association of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Both doctors are Fellows in the Pierre Fauchard Dental Honor Society and Fellows in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Ms. Patty K. works with Dr. Carron and is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
Ms. Kathy H. works with Dr. Carron and is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
Ms. Billie S. works with Dr. Carron and is a graduate of Lansing Community College.
